O’Neill Assembly of God Church is hosting a diaper drive to bless parents in the community. From now through August 16th, packages of diapers can be dropped off at the church office, located at 712 East Clay Street in O’Neill, Nebraska. All sizes of diapers will be collected, and they’ll be given away at the church’s block party on August 22nd. Any questions can be directed to the church at 402-336-2272.

A birthday card shower is happening now for Pastor Grant Graff from Spencer, Nebraska. He will celebrate his 75th birthday on Monday, July 27th. Cards should be addressed to Pastor Grant Graff, P.O. Box 313, Spencer, NE, 68777–0313.

July 17
‘Worship by the River’ is taking place in Pickstown, South Dakota on Friday, July 17th. The evening starts with fellowship and a meal at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship with SD Collective and Kara Hanan at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at the North Point Recreation Area near Pickstown, at picnic shelter #1 by the North Point boat ramp. Event passes will be available if you don’t have a state park entrance pass. A playground and beach will be available for the kids. Everyone is welcome to bring a lawn chair and come enjoy this time of worship!

The Royal, Nebraska 2026 Tractor Ride through 60 scenic miles of central Antelope County is taking place Saturday, July 18th. Sign up starts at the Royal Grill at 10:00 a.m., with the ride beginning at 11:00. Lunch will be available before & after the ride. LifeLight Hills Alive is returning to Memorial Park in Rapid City, South Dakota July 18th and 19th! This free music festival will feature performances from Anne Wilson, Sidewalk Prophets, Tenth Avenue North, KB, Remedy Drive, Stars Go Dim, Sean Rodriguez, Love & The Outcome, Eli Gable, and Presence Worship. July 19
Summerfest Church in the Park will take place on Sunday, July 19 at 10:00 AM in O’Neill’s Ford Park featuring music from Southern Gospel Group, Anthem Edition. Everyone is welcome to bring family and friends, grab a lawn chair, and come enjoy a great morning of worship, music, and community in the park. There will be a free BBQ lunch served after the morning worship service hosted by the O’Neill Ministerial Association.
*In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the O’Neill Community Center.

July 19
The Southern Gospel Group, Greater Vision will be performing at the Prairie View Gospel Barn in Gregory, South Dakota on Sunday, July 19th. The concert starts at 3:00 PM, with doors opening at 2:00 PM. Advance tickets are $35. Tickets the day of the concert are $40, and children ten and under are free! Tickets are available by calling Geoff at 605-830-1545 or at BankWest in Gregory, South Dakota. Specialty coffees and other concessions will be available when the doors open.

Wonder Junction Vacation Bible School is taking place at Faith Hope & Love Fellowship Church in Creighton, Nebraska this Sunday, July 19th through Wednesday, July 22nd. Registration begins at 5:45 PM each evening, followed by VBS from 6:00 until 8:45. Children preschool through completed 6th Grade will learn more about Jesus, His life, and God's purpose through Bible lessons, crafts, game time, snacks, and dramas. There will be an American Red Cross blood drive in the St. Peter Lutheran Church fellowship hall in Orchard, Nebraska on Tuesday, July 21st. The drive will run from 10:30 AM until 4:30 PM and walk ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by calling Amanda Shabram at 402-394-1938, using the Donor app, or online at redcrossblood.org.

Women of all ages are invited to the next Yankton Area Women’s Connection dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21st, with the theme “Happy 250th Birthday USA!” The meeting will include a meal, music by the Kirby Girls, a special feature by Sergeant Nicholas Harrington of the South Dakota Army National Guard, and a presentation by speaker Debra Lord of Indianola, Iowa. The cost to attend is $15, and RSVPs are required by Monday, July 20th. Reservations are available by calling 402-254-2102.

A free concert featuring the Common Bond Quartet will be held at the Union Congregational Church in Gregory, South Dakota on Thursday, July 23rd at 6:30 p.m. A free will offering will be taken for the quartet during the concert. The Fields of Grace Christian music festival is taking place at the ball field in Arlington, South Dakota on Saturday, July 25th at 3:00 p.m. This year’s lineup includes Patrick Mayberry, Stephen Stanley, Peter Burton, and Travis Denison. They will also have food vendors, inflatables, and other activities for kids and adults. Children 7 and under will get in free. A Korean War Veterans’ Recognition Ceremony honoring surviving veterans of Knox County, Nebraska, will be held on Sunday, July 26th at 1:00 p.m., at the Creighton Community Center. Director of Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs John Hilgert will be presenting Knox County’s Korean War Veterans with a recognition coin. The public is invited and encouraged to attend and pay their respects as we honor the Korean War Veterans of Knox County.

Victory Road Evangelical Free Church in Norfolk, Nebraska will have their Vacation Bible School Monday, July 27th through Thursday July 30th, from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. each day for grades K through 6th. July 29 - Aug. 2
Nebraskans and South Dakotans are invited to see the nationwide touring memorial ‘Remembering Our Fallen’ later this month in Spencer, Nebraska. It honors the men and women who gave their lives in the Global War on Terror from September 11th, 2001, to August 30th, 2021. It uniquely tells their stories through their faces and memories, with the help of 35 tribute towers showing photographs of the nearly 5,500 military heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. The memorial launched in Washington, D.C. in 2017, and will be on display for free at the Spencer Community Hall from Wednesday, July 29th through Sunday, August 2nd, before it’s given a permanent home later this year.

The times are Wednesday from Noon until 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 8:00 until 8:00, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 until 6:00.

The 10th annual Winnetoon, Nebraska Barbeque is taking place Saturday, August 1st. This year’s activities along Main Street include kid and adult raffles with high value prizes, root beer floats supporting Bethesda Mini Camp, a car show from 2:00 until 4:00, and a kiddie parade at 4:30, followed by a bouncy house for the kids, live music, and the barbeque all starting at 5:00. Pork BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, pop, and water will all be served for a free will donation. More information is available through the Winnetoon BBQ Facebook group.

Livin’ Out Loud is a free Christian music festival taking place Saturday, August 15th in Gothenburg, Nebraska. This year’s lineup includes Danny Gokey, Megan Woods, Band Reeves, All The Noise, and Logan & Katie, with a special guest speaker to be announced. River City Assembly of God in Yankton, South Dakota will have their 3rd annual River City Family Fest on Sunday, September 6 at 10:00 AM. The event will include worship, baptisms, a petting zoo, bouncy houses, games and food. Rhett Walker will kick off the event with worship and music, then head up to Sioux Falls where he will perform at LifeLight later that afternoon. The Burwell Baptist Church will simulcast the 2026 Legacy Grandparenting Summit on Saturday, September 12th from 8:30 until 4:00. Ongoing Sundays
A teens bible study will take place every Sunday evening at the O’Neill Methodist Church starting on January 11th. The Bible study with Pastor Bob Wynn will meet from 6:30 until 7:15 PM. All ages from 13 to 19 are welcome and all denominations are welcome! This bible study will help to answer any questions of faith that you may have! The O’Neill Methodist Church is located at 404 Cedar Street in O’Neill, Nebraska.

A men’s bible study will take place at 9:00 AM every first Saturday of the month at Teal’s Westside Diner in O’Neill, Nebraska. This study is for high schoolers on up and men from every denomination or those seeking Christ. Any questions can be directed to Pastor Bob at 402-340-2447.

The Clothing Closet, located at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska, is open every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome and all clothing is free. Clothing donations are also appreciated, and in-kind donations are encouraged. They also have a diaper program and offer help to foster parents.
