  • November 22-23, 28-29

    A Cottage Christmas will be presented by Sandhills Sage in Johnstown, Nebraska. The event will include refreshments, door prizes and vendors. It will be held from ten until four on Saturday, November 22nd, Friday, November 28th, and Saturday, November 29th. It will also be held from eleven until four on November 23rd.

  • November 23

    The Faith Keepers from Bloomfield, Nebraska will be putting on an event to help those in need in Knox County on Sunday, November 23rd from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM at the Bloomfield Community Center. A concert by the Faith Keepers will be performed at 11:30 AM. Chili, chicken noodle soup, cinnamon rolls, corn bread, bars, and cookies will be served from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM for a free will donation. All proceeds will benefit those in need in Knox County. There will also be a bake sale and a canned good donation drive for the Knox County Food Pantry. Any questions can be directed to Laurie Larsen at 402-640-2147.   • November 23

    Singer, songwriter, and storyteller Daryl Mosley will perform a free concert at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 23rd at the First Presbyterian Church in O’Neill. He will also perform at 6:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Verdigre. Daryl has written three Song of the Year award winners and has had fourteen #1 hits. The concert is open to the public, with an offering being accepted during the O’Neill event.

  • November 30

    A free concert with Natalie Layne called “Lights of Christmas” will take place on Sunday, November 30th at the Neligh-Oakdale high school gym in Neligh, Nebraska. Doors will open at 6:00 PM with the concert beginning at 7:00. Neligh-Oakdale High School is located at 600 J Street in Neligh. This free concert is being sponsored by Calvary Bible Church.

  • December 3

    ‘Christmas in the Round’ is a free Christmas concert taking place in Sioux City on Wednesday, December 3rd! Come hear Aaron Shust, Mark Schultz, Jon Micah Sumrall of the band Kutless, Todd Tilghman, winner of The Voice season 18, and speaker Josh Brewer for an intimate evening of Christmas songs and stories. This free concert is taking place at Restoration Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Doors open at 6:15 and the concert starts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3rd.

    A free Christmas Funfest will be held from six until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 4th at the Woodland Park School Gym in Norfolk. This event for the whole family will include soup & sweet rolls, a Christmas program with carols, games, crafts, & free camel rides.   • December 5

    Come celebrate the birth of the Savior at the community Christmas pageant titled "Glorious Night". This free event will be held at seven p.m. on Friday, December 5th at the Chamberlain Community Center. Donations for the food pantry are welcome, and a free will donation will be accepted for first responders.

    A Cozy Christmas: An Evening of Music & Poetry featuring Tanner Olson and Blake Flattley will take place at 1C | The Sanctuary in Columbus, Nebraska on Friday, December 5th. A chili and cinnamon roll feed will take place from 5:00 until 6:45 PM, with the show beginning at 7:00 PM. Both events are free with the meal being a free-will offering.     A men’s bible study will take place at 9:00 AM every first Saturday of the month at Teal’s Westside Diner in O’Neill, Nebraska. This study is for high schoolers on up and men from every denomination or those seeking Christ. Any questions can be directed to Pastor Bob at 402-340-2447.

    Since 1951 Sunshine Bible Acedemy has provided God's truth to today's youth. They will hold their annual benefit auction on Saturday, December 6th. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with the live auction beginning at ten. Childcare and a food stand is available all day. The school is located 13 miles south of Miller, South Dakota.     The WINGS (Women In God's Service) Christmas Craft Show is taking place at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek on Saturday, December 6th. Over 20 vendors will be available in the fellowship hall from 10:00 until 3:00, with a soup and pie luncheon for a free will offering beginning at 11:00 a.m.

    The Tribute Quartet will perform a Christmas concert at three p.m. on Sunday December 7th at the Prairie View Gospel Barn in Gregory. Doors open at 2:00 p.m. Ticket information is available by calling Geoff at 605 830 1545 or at BankWest in Gregory. The concession stand will also be open.

    The Christmas concert, "Sights and Sounds of Christmas", will share the reason for the Christmas season. It will be performed by the 36-voice Verdigre Community Chorus at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 7th at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. The second performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10th at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. A free will donation is the only cost. Refreshments will be served after each performance.

    The Wayne State College President’s Holiday Gala will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 in Ramsey Theatre. . The Gala features holiday favorites and traditional carols performed by student and faculty performers. Tickets are required. More information is available at wsc.edu/performing-arts.

    There will be an afternoon to reflect, praise, and give thanks with Just The Messengers on Sunday, December 7th at God’s Country Barn in Center, Nebraska. The event will begin at 3:00 PM with food and fellowship to follow.

    The Kimball Protestant Parish in Kimball, South Dakota will have a Silent Night Retreat on Sunday, December 7th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Find clarity in the quiet and enjoy a time of stillness to connect with the Lord and "let go" of the burdens you carry as you head into the busy holiday season. Everyone is welcome to attend this event. You are welcome to bring any personal supplies like your bible or journal, but supplies will be available at the church as well. All moms are welcome. Sandhills MomCo meets at Calamus Trinity Methodist Church at 9:30 AM on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Each meet-up covers a different topic and stands alone.     The Christmas Closet will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 15th at the O'Neill Community Center. A soup supper will be provided. Those attending the event will be able to choose two gifts for their loved ones. Children will also be able to shop for a parent or caregiver. Crafts and activities will be available for children while their parents shop. To make a donation for the Christmas Closet, bring your new or lightly used gift items to Good News Radio, any O'Neill Church, the Holt County Economic Development Center, Bomgaars or other local businesses.     The O’Neill Ministerial Association will present the third annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, Nebraska on Sunday, December 21st at 6:00 PM.

  • Ongoing Fridays

    The Clothing Closet, located at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska, is open every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome and all clothing is free. Clothing donations are also appreciated, and in-kind donations are encouraged. They also have a diaper program and offer help to foster parents.   • Ongoing Event

    A new worship service at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus began on Sunday, April 27th. This new alternative service will feature Contemporary Praise and Worship music, a message, and prayer. Fellowship is at eleven with the worship service from 11:15 until noon. The church is located at 3602 16th Street in Columbus.
