A Scrap Tire Collection will be held at the Valentine City lot which is located east of the High School. It will take place from 9:00 until 5:00 on April 30th and from 8:00 until 4:00 on May 1st. There will be a Service Academy Day in Norfolk, Nebraska this Saturday at the Chamber of Commerce from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. The event is meant to inform High School students about the process of applying for congressional nomination to a military service academy. Academy representatives will be on hand to answer questions, and representatives from the Nebraska chapters of service academy alumni associations and Nebraska service academy parent clubs will also be in attendance. All high schools, parents, and guidance counselors are welcome. Registration is not required.

The FREE Christian music festival LifeLight Hills Alive is returning to Rapid City July 19th and 20th for its 40th anniversary! So far, Saturday’s lineup includes Megan Danielle, Stephen Stanley, Austin French, Unspoken, and Sidewalk Prophets. Sunday’s performers include Eli Gable, Emerson Day, LO CLOUD (featuring former members of Sanctus Real and Kutless), Rhett Walker, and Crowder. The weekend-long festival in Rapid City’s Memorial Park seeks to share the Gospel and strengthen faith. It will also feature family-friendly activities, a variety of food vendors, and more! A new worship service at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus began on Sunday, April 27th. This new alternative service will feature Contemporary Praise and Worship music, a message, and prayer. Fellowship is at eleven with the worship service from 11:15 until noon. The church is located at 3602 16th Street in Columbus.
